I am surprised at some of you experienced guys thinking the way you do. From start to finish the job went pefectly. Some things you just have to try or do. You have to trust your experience and own theories. anytime i have had a big tree to fell out in the open i have tried doing things a little diferently, bigger gobs, thicker or thinner hinges, really trying to hang the hinge on a bit longer all diferent kinds of stuff. There is only 1 way to find out. If you take away the wires and the garden surroundings then this guy is just focusing on the tree, nothing else. Look at the guy in the states that fellwd the 100foot tree between the houses, AWESOME! he knew what he was doing and just did it.

Yeah but he did it in a conventional manner with skill and precision...

 

It is history on a number of other tree sites... the guy'll argue that white is black just because he says it should be that way and will not listen to any amount of reason.

Rich, crazy stuntfells to some is day to day for others. In 13 years i have done 1 reduction. And that was only because i wanted to try it. Every other job has been a take down, fell or VERY heavy reduction(topping) i think what you guys do in your reductions is harder than a bit of sneaky stuntfelling. You wouldnt catch me away out there at the end of a branch like you do, mate i dont know how you do it, respect BUT give me a tree leaning over a house, beside a river, next to a green house and a turfor or a dirty big digger then i am on it. It is just what each of us are used to doing.
