I think that all the cheapo oils are made from reclaimed oil so possibly better for the environment than new standard chain oil.

I used cheap for years with no more noticeable wear on chain, bar sprockets etc.

Only using anti fling stuff because it worked out about the same price(when the price of oil rocketed!) but less frequent trips to the shop when its a 45 gallon drum.

Never had one snap but thrown a few off the bar. Worse one was on the 660 that took the chain catcher nearly all the way off. Hit my foot even through the boots my foot still hurt and swelled up. no blood though.

are you supposed to start the engine?

Apparently so,

But you will then be getting into fuel and oil costs plus the grey area of which types to use.:confused1:

Then to top it all off you could end up with a nasty scratch on the arm that no one will believe is real.

Best to just leave the bar cover on and use the silky.:thumbup1:

Only had one snap in twenty odd years (touch wood and whistles :001_cool:) that was 18 inch on husky 357, clipped some sheep netting cutting back hedge stumps on road side, just wrapped up in the wire no serious damage

One of my workmates reminded me on Friday of having a 066 chain snap while snedding a little while back, it actually cought me on the chin, left a inch long nick which looked more like a bramble scratch. Quite dissapointing on the whole ;(
