I feel its a question of what you rather be doing If you enjoy the climbing more then say working for Tesco then If they are paying 11 ph for a night shift then its a choice you have to make as sadly the climbing is going to be less. If you cannot aford to work for 7 to 9ph then its off to Tesco .

What is the point in this thread, I love arbtalk and think it is a great site and have learnt loads from it. But is it just me or does there seem to be getting more and more pointless threads.

Alright, alright so I make more than £9 per hour but if the situation were different I would still climb and do trees for minimum wage because of my true love for the great outdoors, the freezing winter chill, the sun browning my neck in summer, the smell of two stroke or freshly cut oak, the feeling I get looking down over a city from 80ft up a tree, the sound of the hinge cracking off a heavy back leaner that is now falling in the opposite direction, the pleasure I get when brushing off my grubby hands and parking my ass on a fresh pile of woodchip to eat my buttys. It all adds up to more than money.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
