Yes we do,We have asked why are we climbing in ground helmets they are causing problems when we climb trees and don't feel safe when where up in the tree we can moan as much as we like but it always falls on deaf ears

If thats the case Tom, Refuse to climb. You should only be using the proper kit.

have to say there were two guys on assessment for 38/39 with me and both were using those lids with an elastic chinstrap... no questions asked by the assessor and the guy doing the assessing was the one that wrote the book...

it was only a few months ago,, and the assessor is the national HSE advisor, or something that sounds like that..

Just ask them to see whats on the front page of the assessment criteria and a copy of AFAG 401
