Love to see an "after" Shot. Never seen anything like this down our way.

It looks like the base of the tree is almost cut through to lay it over, i take it that it fully recovers and grows away nicely?

 

The first pic of this sequence is now in it's second summer since laying, the others are of the hedge I did this winter, one shot of a stump, about 2" diameter and it is already regenerated 4 shoots, ai'nt nature brilliant.

hedge im laying at the moment lot of stuff to cut out and some really bent in the bottom making it a job to pleach

One I'm doing at the minute, been layed about 20-30 years ago at a guess, gapped up with blackthorn at some point and then flailed umtil about 7 years a go and left to regrow for laying, so its a bit interesting

Nice job Not quite sure what style mines classed as, think its a cross between midlands and welsh

 

not a expert on different styles but looks very welsh to me. if midlands would have one row of stakes and binders on top. maybe breckon style. but nice job.

I have never done hedgelaying before but would love to have a go at it.

 

south of england hedgelaying society have 3 training days and a improvers day. will start again in october. worth giving them a call to find out. getting near end of season march and that will be it untill middle september

doing a hazel hedge at present will get some photos of before and when finished. i have attached a hedge i did 2 winters ago old blackthorn 60 plus years and flailed to death
