Just make sure that your rope / cord combo is right and the length of cord used for your friction hitch is correct so that the "legs" of the distel aren't too long but aren't too short either and make sure it's set correctly before you ascend. Otherwise the new thread title might be "distel failure causes mesterh to pummel frank".

just climb it the same as VT on a HC.

 

Heres a pic of my distel/HC sett-up. Enjoying this combination at the moment just fees much more confident with it, and confidence is the key. :001_smile:

 

That looks a good rig. Just make sure you clip the other krab on before you start to climb. Haha

 

8mm sirius on 13mm honey bee, should, once worn in grip really nicely. Just to show how everyone is different, I would probably have those "legs" slightly shorter.

Difference between a distel and vt is how easily the vt "breaks" making it advance alot smoother, but because of the slight extra friction on advancing the distel will grip 99% of the time when you sit back without any real fiddling.
