Unimog U900. How many of you use them?

Perhaps I should have paid more attention at school!

 

I like the U1000, very tidy. The only thing I don't like about them is that the wings stick up on the sides of the bonnet, looks a little odd I think. If I get a 1000 it will be fitted with a 1200 bonnet, which goes straight on so I'm told.

 

Yes, in fact the later W's had a standard bonnet.

 

I'm sure any bonnet of one smaller chassis mogs would fit, IE 12's,14's,16's.

 

I think the bonnet on the older 1000's is cool though, a bit retro like a Capri

The Bonnet on my Mog is Fiberglass.I don't know if thats standard?

The Doors are deffinatly Steel,I nearly folded in half when I lifted one off the hinges.

Yes fiberglass is standard, I bet they burn like hell in a fire!!!

I do! Not enough yet, but I'm getting there! Chipper, winch, lift, stump grinder, log splitter, maybe even a hiab crane if I can fit it in!! Once you get one you can build onto it. That's why I chose the U900. They're implement carriers.

ACUF, I've seen your youtube videos. That's a lovely little Mog you have there. I'm still undecided on what I'll end up with but I've got a fair way to go before I've got the cash ready for one. Plenty of time to think!

 

The 900s do look handy. Being so low (from a Mog point of view at least) they can fit up some pretty tight little forestry rides and still have the ability to do all I'll ever ask of it. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of roll over protection from the standard cab.

Very good point, by law if you are asking an employee to drive it you need to fit ROP.

I asked them about shipping a Pinzgauer back to UK a while ago and it was relatively cheap so don't be too put off. I think they're based in Arizona so all their stock is dry stored year round just by virtue of where they are.

 

There's a link to their Swiss location too... might be a bit more practical as it's within the EU.
