It can go off, but that just means it wont work. It can lose it flammabilitynessifaction.

 

If the saw works then it will be fine, if not then get some new juice!

 

A mate of mine spent 4 years restoring a motor bike, then put the same fuel back in and spent another few weeks fiddling until he realised that new fuel might be a good idea!!

I would not use old fuel like that in a new saw, use it for cleaning something greasy...

Fuel only goes off if the container is vented.

 

If the container is fully air tight it will still be ok

 

Smell it, you can smell petrol that has gone off, it just has a funny smell, not a sharp petrol smell

No problem, love the nesiffication Rupe, Im going to use that one in the shop.

 

Get some new fuel, to be on the safe side. As Dean satsuma it has a strange sweet smell when it's off.

In standard petrol the refiningmethod aim to produce as much petrol as possible and the end product isn't very flammable, therefore they add a solvent to give the petrol back its flammability.The solvent is very volative and when it dissapears the petrol "goes off". At least thats what i have been told.

Thats another reason why Im using Aspen everyday...less volatives to breath in and it doesn't "go off"
