once again you are dramatising what i said, i dont mean a hobbo mesterh, a fit guy with a bit of common sense and a willing to learn can be brought up to speed pretty quickly, yes maybe the basics but he wont need to go to university or have intensive one on one training. Maybe its just me, maybe i dont see the glamour in this job like some do, maybe i am just happy with my own ability and dont care what others think.

I knew what you meant and didnt mean to imply that I meant a hobo:laugh1:

there is a fine line between blowing ones own trumpet and having confidence and self assurance of ones ability, stephan.

Fine, let any old numpty grab a saw and "ave a go"

but if we are to acknowledge the lack of skill reqiured in this game, we must all stop banging on about the ladder crews and rouge traders, cos if it is that simple they aint doing nothing wrong are they. This site would be 60% shorter on threads too!

but surely if the ladder crews can take our work and lots of it, isnt that proving my point.

and now that fracture pruning is proven to be a far more effective way of pruning, this can only make the job easier for them.

Well apparently there is no skill required so they are welcome to it (ladder crews knock yourselfs out)

as for fracture pruning, it really isnt that simple stephan, it is fit for purpose and that purpose is NOT the urban tree stock.

This job does take skill, but what job doesnt. You should go into the supermarket security guard industry tony, they give you a uniform, badge, walky talky and even a name badge if you are special. Now thats a job that commands authority and respect, i reckon you would be the stealthiest un armed guard in tescos:thumbup:
