after readign though all the pages on this thread i thought it would be a good idea to post this picture from a large sycamore in highgate that was to be re reduced to its previous points was a pig of a climb and it was getting a tad dark once we finished.

what do people think ?

not sure what to make of it ? there does not seem to be any growth points left or is it just a poor picture ? judging buy the size of the final cuts and the fact its a siccy it will explode with growth from that result ,it does look a neat shape tho , i would say it was not a tpo tree ,nothing negative intended

About a meter or so up from the round overs current look, there appeared to be some decent growth points... That's what I would of gone for... But I have no idea of the spec you are required to work to.

no i dont believe so it was massicured a while ago as you can see and the customer wanted it felled but with the position of the property below down a steep verge we urged to keep the tree and so the work was carred out. the pictures were pretty shitty but growth points well there was not many of them as there was only straight vertical poles

there are a majority of the tree is to growth points. and it was what the customer wanted to do they wanted it lower than this.
