I've had every generation so far. The 3gs is so much quicker and the camera is as good as you expect. If your gonna get any game, get angry birds!

I've heard the rumour about the new one. I believe it could be june or July. Apple always seem to do it around then.

I would buy a sturdy case with some holes in it, tie a piece of old throwline to it and clip it to my harness so pictures can be taken when up the tree. It's always good to post stuff on facebook with a picture looking out over an area!

Simple stick on screen cover here, and cheapo tight fitting rubber cover here (great tip from Rich). Month in, not one scratch.

Keep the whole lot in a dog-s*** bag in the pocket of my Stretch Air's when climbing, to further protect from dust and rain!

I use a zagg invisibleshield on mine and have done on my other 4 previous iPhones. I have one on cameras and on my iPod too. They are £15 for an iPhone kit. Don't add any bulk at all, and are 100% scratchproof. Worth the investment and come with a lifetime warranty. The screen cover kept travelling up and folding over. I'm onto my 7th front cover. Each one was replaced under warranty!

I have the Zagg on my ipod too, seems indestructible!

they are very good quality products! great for this type of work. I gave an old one to my girlfriend and i sat on it, dont know how, but the screen was all cracked, the invisibleshield held all the glass in and she continued to use it for about 8 months!
