I dont want this to turn into a "lets run down the AA" free-for-all, but more a little form of research. If you are AAAC, why not point out the benefits being AAAC has had for your business.

Any derogatory comments on this thread re: the AA or its leadership will be removed!

Good thread, i seem to be with majority on being to expensive. I personally would like to see the AAAC transform into arbs version of gas safe where everyone has to be a member an adhear to rules and regs. I think it's the best way to keep the standard of tree work high and safe.

yes thats a good idea, but it aint gunna happen.

Its a good thing if your a bigish firm doing lots of high profile jobs but a small firm doing smaller commercial and domestic forget it, mr and mrs miggins have probably never heard of the AA and most dont even know what Arboriculture is!

Agree, and even Devon County Council dont look for it now, just have to be CHAS registered. At the framework meeting a few months ago there were a few peed off people who had spent a lot of time and money becoming AAAC's just for the council work, and the council have decided that it is not a requirement:blushing:

Money is everyting, it costs a lot of cash to become AAAC and it carries on from what i believe. Hear in Devon from what i have seen and chatting to AAAC in other parts of Devon i dont think it would be worth it. Dont get me wrong there ethics and codes of conduct are good, but it just seems a hell of a lot of hard work and money, for little rewards.

some people i have spoken to are considering not renewing their contracts.

I surpose what works for some, won't work for others:confused1:
