Even here it’s becoming ‘a thing’

I was asked about it by a client recently, I just said we checked for nests beforehand etc….

It may become a bigger issue  in the coming years as more and more people see the opportunity to interfere in other peoples business.

I have about 4 large jobs on hold at the moment.

Birds nesting.

The annoying thing is they are magpies, crows and pigeons.

what would be considered a pest in the Uk even has hunting seasons here.

In the UK I would call a halt in a job if a songbird nest was involved.  Never lost any sleep relocated a pigeon or Magpies though.

You can do the job. Those birds are not protected.

Yes I know but the customer don’t want the jobs to go ahead until the whittle birdies have finished nesting 😄

I thought , in the UK it was illegal to disturb any nesting bird . The cutting of hedges between March and September only applied  to agri hedge rows not domestic . I thought also that you can cut domestic hedges provided you do due diligence and check for nests etc . However I have been wrong before and will be again no doubt .

That’s spot on Stubby.

I wouldn’t cut if there were live nests, even pigeons or corvids (equally protected), but sometimes it’s just so obvious there are no nests you can just crack on.

A lot of customers seem very confused by it, the amount of bullshit out there is unreal.

Can’t stop, I’m off to renew my oak tree cutting licence.
