I'm already baffled. I want to ( legally ) carry on pulling trailers, or being allowed to drive 7.5 Tonners on the rare occasion I need to. Some sites indicate I need to fill in forms D2/D4, but I think that's for minibuses/HGV etc.

Others say that if I have B+E entitlements then it's automatically OK.

Just to complicate matters, I can't find my paper licence, but I remember when I got it, I was delighted to find I could use various everyday vehicles, such as Road Rollers, pedestrian controlled mowing machines, and all manner of similar stuff. 🙂

Any informed advice would be gratefully received, thanks.

It has been a while since I did mine, I did not keep my D1 and C1 which gave me the right to continue driving mini buses (never did) and 7.5 tonne lorries which I did drive at work but felt no need after I retired. You do need a medical and fill a form in for these.

The B+E is part of the car licence and is retained.

How old will you get before you just say fucck it and drive what you want, no tax, no insurance, no MOT, bus lanes, taxi ranks? I'm thinking I'll get to it by about forty.

Are you going to pull the old Sovereign Citizen schtick?
Cos watching those wankers get turned over by fat US cops on YouTube is a favorite of mine.

Of course it is, you basic little schadenfreudling. But no. Too much waffle. I'm moving house in the next year or so. I'm burying the new place (and everything else while I'm at it) in trusts ten deep. I'll own nothing.

Kinda hoped so. Many thanks for that, much appreciated. Guess no more 7.5tonners for me then. Not the biggest problem I've ever faced, unless someone offers me a job driving one from August.

Don't you just fill this out (or paper version in post office)?  I think what you can drive always carries forward, including B+E.  Putting it another way, they don't have enough test capacity!

Renew your driving licence online if you're 70 or over. Use form D46P to apply by post

Well, no. Currently, I can drive a 7.5 Tonner. Unless I take a medical, and fill in a supplementary form, I won't be able to shortly. Not a big deal, as long as I can still put the trailer behind my van, I'm happy enough.

Ha, I remember seeing that I could drive those vehicles on my paper license and laughing too!

Dont quote me on this but I remember from a long time ago someone saying that when you update your paper license to a card you loose certain privileges, the B+E was one of them until you took another test.

Probably no help and probably misinformation by me but I hope it helps.🤘
