I dont agree with that, but maybe i am wrong. maybe 30m3 of loose split firewood but not 30m3 of solid timber on an 18 tonne lorry load

Ok I dint mean 30m3 of "solid" wood. But that pile does measure 30m3 in the round on the floor. Which also matches up to the size of the lorry's load area which it filled to the brim. The wood is quite dry already & has been cut quite a while.

Will be interesting to see just how many 1m3 vented bags (thats a real m3 bag not a builders bag) its fills when cut & split.

Just did some calcs using the picture & items in it & the real items & marks on the ground & the total volume of the load bay is 39.2m3 (2m high x 2.8m wide & 7m long). Less a bit for the gaps between each stack on the lorry & 30m3 seems a fair guestimate.

Mostly softwoods, but a tinny bit of hard wood. Not had a good look to try to identify it yet.

Plus most of my wood recognition is with hard woods so it would be a guess as to what the softwood is.

This is prob the best pic to see what they are.

Spruce & some Hairy Birch.

Oh & its 37 1m3 bags to an 18 tonner lorry load.

(by volume as the lorry was full but not weighed as it was dry stuff)

So that would be 74 builders bags or " 1 ton" bags as some call them.
