Pleasant surprise today when my renewal came through and it’s £25 cheaper than last year.

I expect they’ll try and bend me over next year, but I’ll take the win for the next 12 months.

Not bad one of my trucks went up by £15, but the other reduced by £350. Will be ring insurance company next week to find out if they over charged last year.

I wish that was my NFU experience!

After a decade or so of no claims (ever!), they suddenly bumped up our business insurance by 70%, so I moved to another insurer..

A couple of years later, almost the same with my household insurance, so I moved that too..

Then three years ago, declined to insure the remaining tractors, and Mog -all with no claims, again !

Couldn't get any sense out of their head office or anything...

It’s a lottery mate.

As I said, next year there’ll be a 4000% increase or something.

I’m sure they get their figures from a Rubik’s cube soaked in chicken blood or something.

It’s mental isn’t it?

You sound like a really good (non) risk.

If they’d kept the figures the same, or only bumped them up lightly, they’d still have your business, and your money.

My renewal also came today, multi vehicle policy, nearly £400 less than last year, no change of vehicles or address. Do insurance companies pluck these figures out of thin air?

They're using Chinese AI to determine risk. Anyone whose premium has dropped is probably actually a total rogue.

They've changed the under wrighter to Tokyo marine about 2 years back, so maybe they've got a better handle on the market compared to Gallagher.
