It is surprising how it has taken off, the rest of the echo range is nowhere near as much of a seller. Right product at the right time I suppose.

The Echo rep was saying that echo have such a huge global market share of top handle saws that they are building a plant dedicated to only producing the 2511. Which is why there is no more stock available until July/August this year.

Agreed. We've got the 3/8 version at the version at the minute. Got them a couple of weeks back. Not got many left though! It's probably on par with MS201T sales if the supply was there. The T540XP is getting some better sales, now it feels better balanced than the earlier models ( I hated the mk1/2)

Somebody in Echo’s R&D department is due a very big bonus.

We had a partial shipment of the 1/4" the other week which we weren't expecting as when we asked where they were (ordered last year) we were told about the delay etc.

If anyone wants the 1/4" version you can find them on our web site £3.5 Thousand English pounds and 53 Pence. :)

Bargain!

Bumping this thread regarding toppys...

Whats everyone using for a bigger top handle? We've got 1/4pitch 2511ts and love them, but for the odd large rigging removal job it would be nice to have something a bit bigger, both power wise and bar wise (without hoiking a ground saw up)

I used to have a husky T540xp mk1, was a terrific cutting saw when it wanted to run well, and felt really nice in the hand, but that wasn't often. After a year or so the thing was a bitch to start warm, and it finally ripped in half in my hand when it got snagged. Is the MK3 a better saw? or do people still have trouble with them?

tried the Echo 362 and was a underwhelmed. The saw ran well enough, didnt set the world alight, but was nowhere as ergonomic as the 2511, and the smaller fuel caps that don't fit stihl spouts was a pain. Ive no doubt it would still be going trouble free had it not been nicked, but i didint rush to replace it.

Stihl 201s i find underwhelming as well, and at almost twice the price of the big echo, i think they should be better.

Looking at the Milwaukee battery saw too? anyone got one?

TIA

The initial T540 was a disaster in as much as Husqvarna were using Joe public as a testing ground ( av busting apart , bars de lamiating etc etc )  I have aq MK 1.5 ( don't ask ) but the current offering I understand is pretty good . A powerful top handle . @adw

201 mtronic with opened exhaust, wakes it up a bit. Could say boringly reliable, still idles like it did new, never been any trouble at all, although to be fair mine is not heavily used due to battery saws taking a lot of the strain and then just pull the 400 up.
