Chainsaw boots

Hi happy Tuesday

I’m wondering what people actually wear on there feet?

I’ve read that chain saw boots are awful for climbing and steel toe caps make it all the worse and they aren’t comfortable

but also for a risk assessment I’m fairly sure you need to have chainsaw boots?

are there massive differences between classes of boot with regards to comfort and climbing ability ?

a lot of the work we will be doing will be private based not a big firm

Some will scoff but I've got a pair of these and they're actually really good, surprisingly so for the money. Can wear them all day and also climb in them.

That's a great price, how long have you worn them?

I got them off amazon in 2018(!) when I was first doing this kind of work. I reckon all told they've had a year's every day use. Still in decent condition, don't get me wrong they're not the best boots I've ever had but they don't hurt my feet at the end of the day like many work boots I've had and they're pretty grippy. Would buy again.

Oregon do some cheap ones don't they, which apparently last about 5 minutes. Maybe these are better, although sadly no size 13.

The oregon ones I had as spares became unusable because the soles perished. I don't buy boots with polyurethane soles and generally go for vibram soles in walking boots (I do not expect to buy another pair of chainsaw boots).

HUGELY annoying to walk away from a pair of boots in storage for a while and come back to crumbling soles. Not been working long enough for it to happen to chainsaw boots, but I've lost a few pairs of walking boots that way.

Definitely something I'm aware of when purchasing chainsaw boots now.
