Doobin, do you get your Ajax system through the Rural View people? Or is their QR label for some other kit?

I use Celsius Ltd. Had two systems now and always first class service.

RuralView supplied me with a 4g camera which I will hang in the locked digger cab when I park it up for the night. Seems to work ok on a spare GiffGaff sim, need to get the multi SIM card it came with working.

Thanks for all the replies, I will post a list of all the serial numbers here for all the saws etc. You never know..

I’ve been looking at those rural view cameras, has anyone else used them?

I quite like loading up a bead seater with that purple stain powder and putting the lever on a trip wire in the container… But it’s probably illegal.. the thieves have more rights than we do. …. It would be worth doing just for the crack though…

And thanks to those that have messaged me here privately, especially those who offered help. Very thoughtful and really was appreciated.

I've recently bought a couple of the Rural View cameras. Great people to deal with but the cameras, well one of them has been a frustrating exercise to get to behave. I would stress however that I think that it's just a question of adjusting it correctly.  Don't rule out Ring cameras, not as sophisticated but the software seems to work better.

Not the yard this time, but one of our guys had her van broken into in Edinburgh on Friday night. Had kit with her for a course next week so she's lost helmet, comms unit, a climbing kit and personal camping equipment. They tried and failed to hotwire the van too so it's sustained more needless damage. They'll never be caught, never be investigated. The premise is we're on our own in these matters.

Have to say I'm getting really pissed with this happening. I don't particularly include Police Officers in this sentiment as every one I engage with is supportive and it's clear they want to have people's back but their hands are tied. It's a choice made by the authorities to let people suffer it, they have no problem at all enforcing their "ring of steel" in Edinburgh, widespread camera systems and monitoring of us over congestion zones, bus lanes, parking contraventions, traffic lights, etc, etc. They can punish us with ease but they'll do nothing to help us.

It's a daily occurrence working around the city to see kids and crims on illegal bikes, quads, scrap motors, going around intimidating people with impunity, taking drugs on the street, I'm approached regularly by junkies offering cheap cheese, drink with security tags on, flashy mountain bikes.

I don't know any Council Tax victims that think someone contravening a bus lane briefly in their car is comparable with all that. Struggling to understand why society puts up with it.

Just a rant basically.

Angry, from Scotland.

They all need nailing to the ****************ing wall. Genuinely malicious harm to someone's livelihood like that... hunt them down and throw them out the airlock.

Was shopping yesterday and on market area rural police unit had a pitch, there was 4 officers on there would be better off investigating crime then taking to public.

Read the original post and that is an absolute scunner. That’d put most companies under losing all of that!

I never read much of the thread only the last post from Doug really but how likely is it for an insurance company to even cover all of that after it is stolen? I’ve heard of a lot of people getting done over by them!
