Well,I'm hoping the arbtalk hive mind can help me out here. I'm thinking of getting myself one of the above mewps. Has anyone on here ever owned or operated one of these machines?

I'd like to know all you think is good or bad about them please. What it's like to use, irritating quirks, are they to be avoided completely or are they the bees knees?

The reason I'm drawn to this particular machine is that even though it's only a few years old it has hydraulics to the basket. Hydraulics I can fix, remotes not so much.

There seems to be very little about this particular machine online. It's not exactly cheap but it's the right size and weight for my current needs.

Opinions on other similar sized machines are welcome too.

Thanks guys.

Hinowa all the way!!  250kg in the basket and the godsend button that’ll give you

This godsend button... what if you've got it in tight between a building and the stem and you've had to rotate the boom 180° at full height to squeeze the lower elbow of it through... or if you've snaked it through the gap of a couple of snipped branches and you're curving around the stem a bit...

Does the godsend button remember the route you've taken, or is it just looking for the quickest route from A to B, regardless of the obstacles it doesn't know are there?

Seems like you could get yourself into difficulties...

Have used both 12m and 14m ones and they are faster then Hinowa, mutable levers can be used which can't on some of the Hinowa's. The problem is they are narrow and have a habit of laying on their side.

Thank you. yes, I did notice the tracks are not expandable. It does look top heavy. How poor are they on minor slopes?

Me too, but I'm thinking it's an emergency button that puts the basket on the floor, dramatically.

It's a return to home function but the newer hinowas are horrible to use.

Had an older 1470 goldlift and it was way more comfortable and faster than the newer 1570.

The o and s one is hydraulic to the basket too, which makes fault finding much easier, for me at least

another riddle that I don't understand, I'm feeling very old.

There's a button on the remote console that if the gradient of the machine becomes too much eg when driving up a slope, it activates an override that allows you reduced speed movements for 10 or so seconds to help you overcome the slope, or turn it over.

There is also an option on newer models for a push button descent. The boom must be in line with the undercarriage for this to work. It's more a gimmick than anything else.

Not sure which is being referred to above.
