This is what the carvers use as has a shorter tooth - but Stihl put the price of this chain up by 50% at the beginning of the year for no particular reason that I can work out.

Yep it seems that way! I don't get why Stihl would do this as they've been making this chain for many years - the onyl reason I can think of now one makes anything similar so they feel why not.

There are lots of varieties of chains with the same pitch and gauge - this has a shorter top plate and is unguarded compared to the Oregon 25AP and Husky chains.
