If you don't have over ten million in the bank you don't need to fret, petal.

Tax some super rich people and take back the wealth of this land.

AHHP's suggestion of stopping the dole is a good one in terms of boat-based immigrants. That way you'll likely only get the genuine refugees coming here, which might be most of them, but probably not.

Then invest massively into sustainable self-generated energy sources. Sell surplus to people who want it.

Might as well try to leave a better place, if we can.

!0 million = 600K in interest alone. 100 million = 5.2 million etc etc.

Does someone with a billion quid in the bank really need it?

All governments owe debt. Who to?

Duke of Westminster inherited 10 Billion. He paid zero tax on that. That amount would cover all the tax that everyone on this forum pays in a lifetime, and more. Is that right?

If he leaves the country just take his estate. That's what they do with proceeds of crime.

Steal from nobody. There'll be no dole to apportion the loot to anyway.

Remember, dole isn't just universal credit for tracksuits and tins. It's farm subsidies, gift aid, Princess Anne's heating bill, council shovel leaners, the Ethiopian Spice Girls, NHS compliance and governance controllers, TV licence correspondents, state sewage distributors etc etc etc etc etc. The ****************ing lot.

Immigrants are annoying if you don't like foreign people but they're not why you're poor. You're poor because of bad monetary policy and the existence of town and country planning.

Whilst you might have a little more financial reality than Rachael from accounts.

WTF would any want to work and succeed in your post apocalyptic tax tax tax system.

It's almost as infantile as those Americans who shout tax the 1% and realise how little you need to earn to be in that 1%

Taxing the 1% doesn't and won't make any difference. The problem we face today is too many people consuming too many resources. The resources are finite.

Money is abstract, it's marks on a ledger, representing an entity's legal right to consume resources.

If everyone was a billionaire, the cost of bread and tap water would be a million per liter and loaf.

Taxation, for millennia the world over, used to be a tribute of useful resources from the bottom of the pyramid upwards.

Today, it's an adjustment of the ledger that moves some of the right to consume from the individual or entity to the government.

The billionaire consumes less resources, in real terms, than a thousand normal people.

A thousand normal cars driving around every day, consume more resources than the billionaires car collection.

The billionaires home may be "worth" half a billion, but it's just land and some rocks. It cost way less rocks and energy to build than a three hundred council houses.

This discrepancy between cost and value is fundamental to the economic confusion of our age.
