That’s how I see it.

 

It’s a bit numb really, a plated trailer doesn’t limit what you can put on it, does it?

As you said earlier I see Ifor’s being tugged around most days that must gross 4t+.
 

It’s down to the driver to make sure he’s within limits, not the trailer manufacturer.

Only 4ton come over here, our ifors average more like 6t 🤣 We work on the theory we were empty going the other way so take an average weight and we will be fine! 

 

those days are gone here as they have relatively recently given the island a dedicated traffic cop and he has made a mark and earned his commission by giving lots of tickets for insecure loads and weight offences. I’m yet to make his acquaintance but it rumoured he would try and give you a ticket for bald tyres on a road roller!
There are now trailers going round with nets over a load of sand as he is that tight 🤣🤦‍♂️

Yeah, exactly. Mine's plated for 3,500kg but nothing stops you putting more on it.

Moved a load of paving recently.

Two pallets of Indian sandstone,two dumpy bags.16 bags of cement and few random bits of timber .

Some extra bits of paving and some kerb stones in one trailer load. 

Probably should of worked it out but most likely over .
