Cutting palms

Any advice please on cutting palm trees down? I think Chusan Palms. Do fibres jam the sprockets? A lot of leaves at the top. Maybe  A blow torch first🔥A few years ago I had to use brushcutter blade for cordylines. 

These have a few obstacles in the garden to avoid, so will need doing in sections. Not big trees, maybe 18ft.max

I have heard the sap can attack the aluminum of the saw casings .

That looks like a large cordyline, we had one just like it and it flowered in a very similar way to that - it was around 20 years old and...they do get that big.

The leaves are damn tough/fibrous and used to jam the mower and would think they may cause havoc to a chipper unless someone else knows different. 

As Stubby said, I also heard that palm sap can attack aluminium casings.

The leaves burn better than they chip but the wood is fire proof

Yeah, second above, cordyline are basically unchippable. You hear a lot of the guys in the states tackle them top down when dismantling

One I did I found the leaves strip off by pulling down , then stems are pretty soft and cut easy with a silky. Chainsaw lower down. Leaves will tangle a chainsaw yes, don't attempt it.
