Hi all, I want to get a colleague of mine into tree work. However I don’t want to spend a fortune on a harness as he’s very new to it. Can anyone suggest something that would work please.

Treehog th5000 is probably one of the cheapest options for a dedicated tree climbing harness. I may be proved wrong though

Petzl Avao sit harness is another cheaper option, no bridge though.

Treehog is the most uncomfortable thing I ever tried on, if that was my first experience of a harness I probably wouldn't have made it up the first tree. He might be ok if he's smaller though.

Just buy a second hand one from eBay or Marketplace.

There are loads of good deals on nearly new stuff from gardeners and landscapers who have chased the easy tree money, then found it’s not that easy.

I know, it’s not fair.

All the other guys have big saws, trucks, chippers, yards, tickets, insurance etc.

Or he good get advice on his climbing course?

Pretty pointless using him commercially without tickets?

Can you see where I’m going with this?
