2017 Nissan cabstar 3.0 nt400

Hi all , ihave been looking at a

2017 Nissan cabstar 3.0 nt400 with around 85000 miles .

it has had a new arb back installed .

my question was to anyone who has experience in prices for trade vans. The place that is selling it has it up for 25,000 + vat (30,000) which seems to me alot of money for the age ect

 

I havnt been to see the van yet as is 3 hours away so no idea on engine quality 

 

Is this expensive for what it is and what would you think a good price is ?

 

Any thoughts on this would be a great help.

I don't really know what to suggest would be a fair price, but the asking price certainly sounds a lot to me. I take the view that used arb vans should be priced on age and mileage, not registration year. I have a 2015 Iveco daily with high spec and very good enclosed chip box and tool locker, with 46,000 miles on it. I would guess that £15,000 + VAT would be a reasonable price for this. Not sure about the chassis type on Cabstar, but I prefer open C section chassis rails, rather than tinny box section, due to better corrosion resistance.

Looking at other comparables anything over 20k for that is overpriced.

I see a well looked after 2010 cabstar, with 70k miles and arb tipper body (complete with roof, barn doors, ladder rack, beacons etc) go for £11,250 plus VAT earlier this year, if that helps by way of comparison.

I would be careful buying any used truck that has a brand new arb body put on as it's a way to change over the odds for a van with high mileage.

 

For comparison I brought a brand new Isuzu with full arb body I designed for £32500 a year and a half ago so it sounds well over priced.

Thats what i was thinking.  Looking online they are going for anything from £9-15000 with 10grand being the most common price. But that's without the arb back.

Cabstar cabs rust for fun - have a good poke around under the seats and up the back.

New in 2017 Cabstar 26000 plus vat best Arb body you can get on this less than 8000 plus vat , so in my head the seller is on class A drugs go for new if possible 5 year warranty good resale price if something go wrong at 85000 miles you coming do major repairs like bearings, flywheels,shock absorbers ,injectors all fluids and brake callipers possible ,plus corrosion issues all over body

I’ve just been quoted £48k for a grafter LWB with arb back.

Seems to be the in thing at the moment, there’s loads of ex Asda vans near me with arb backs on, high miles and near the £30k mark.
