Insulating a lorry container

Does anyone have any experience insulating a lorry container? Guys usually use for such jobs has given me a price but he is unsure if glueing sheets to the container will cause condensation issues with the gaps in the corrugating

Usually the roof is sprayfoamed and then walls you can either batten and spray foam in between or insulate and use a vapour barrier over insulation! Ventilation will also help with reducing the condensation in certain circumstances too I think !

Have you already got the container? Have you looked at getting a refrigerated lorry/trailer body?

Yep already got the container. It’s bolted onto the back of our shop for storage. It was fine till we started putting the heater on in the shop, now it just rains with condensation and we had to pull everything out of it

Twistedhicap has covered most of it. The vapour barrier is the most important thing though. Also, If you end up using a glue adhesive, I recommend the following…it’s awesome.

Our builder has been using a lot of stuff called "Celotex" which is a high performance insulator. I guess you could board the inside with the Celotex and plasterboard version.

Have you tried a dehumidifier? Not one of those shyte ones but a proper one. We have two, a Mitsibushi one and a Meaco one both of which work really well...a cup full of water per two hours or so in damp weather.

Don’t think a dehumidifier would cut it

Pretty much like converting a van to a camper, batten it out, kingspan or similar insulation board, (can be had from Hadliegh). Fill between battens, gently pack any other crevices with recycled plastic insulation, seal all joints with insulation tape. Vapour barrier will always be one for discussion, are you

keeping moisture out, or trapping it in. Ventilation is key to keeping moisture/damp away.
