Hello everyone.
I have a job where it’s a 22M oak that’s been left to rot thats 100% unclimbable and there are 2 out houses underneath it.

my question is can you lift a large mewp by a crane on a public road over the house into a back garden?

I’d imagine you can, but I’d also imagine it will be much cheaper to knock a garden wall down and rebuild if that’s what’s stopping access.

It would probably be cheaper to get a monster mewp in and reach over the house.

pics would be good. If it’s been left to rot and is as bad as you make out then the outhouses are at risk anyway- how special are they?

Is the tree too rotten to be craned out?

Also am I right in thinking you are not allowed to ride the crane hook?

It depends on the company, but the Technical Guide for the use of cranes in arboriculture makes clear allowances for this.

Thankyou for all the replies, it’s in a very nice garden 200m away from the front house, so crane the mewp in and drive the mewp to the end of garden. No wall to remove, about 7 gardens away from other access

Cheaper to fell the tree and repair the damage
