CE mark and Loler

Since leaving Europe does all climbing equipment have to be CE marked for LOLER or are other internationally approved standards acceptable? Looking at getting a replacement Weaver harness from the US which would be approved there but are no longer sold here (apparently because the market was no longer big enough for them to bother), so haven't been available with a CE mark for years.

CE marks continue in use until December 2024, from January 2025 the UKCA standards become applicable. It seems the American standard would not be sufficient unless the harness is currently CE marked or is certified to the UK alternative post December 2024.

Erm actually UKCA, which was to replace the CE mark, was dropped in August. The UK will use and recognise the CE mark indefinitely, and anything with the UKCA mark will obvs still be fine.

Another pointless act of economic self-debasement.

@matt padden your harness will need to have a CE or UKCA mark to get LOLERed
