Morning all,

Weeding duties in the garden, with the boss. So much for the "day off"🤣

Had my first experience of having to put a track back on mewp yesterday. Sorted, and from now on will carry the appropriate pry bar with me!

I had a track come off of those mini tippers once a few years ago, on hire, had to get the fella out to sort it. Is it the sort of thing that even a simpleton like me could manage, should it happen again in the future?

You have to undo the input end of the grease filled tensioner, push the idler wheel in to put slack into the track, then stretch it back on with a pry bar. Easier on a digger or mewp as you can lift the track up from the ground. Guess it would be harder with a tracked dumper.

Ahh yeah, I see what you mean. I guess you could bodge job a lift with a bottle jack or two, depending on the terrain.

I've seen a winch used to pull one side up to get the track off the floor!  Tree blokes tend to think differently - "I haven't the tools so how am I going to achieve this?"
