Van Signage. Magnets or Wrap/Stickers

Hi Guys,

Currently got signage on the work van in the form of magnetic signs. Can’t remember where they were made.  Changed email address so need to get new ones. Just wondered where people are going for their Van advertising and if printed magnets are the best option?

is there somewhere online you can upload designs etc? Can only see Vista Print and the ones they make are too small.

cheers

Depends on what kind of work you do, most of my work is contracting and some companies want my van to turn up plain on their jobs so I use magnetic signs, I put them on when I’m doing my own jobs, or when I’m not working. I got mine locally, I went and spoke to the bloke about what I wanted at about 10.00 o’clock and at 14.00 he rang me to say they were ready for collection.

Cheers Eggs. It’s 99% domestic for us so that wouldn’t be an issue but one of the positives with the magnets is you can take them off so happy to go back to them again. Just thought there might be a go to company that people have used previously.

also completely pissing in the wind in terms of how much a more semi permanent wrap would cost compared to the magnet style.

I use magnetic signs for my survey car. 2 issues in the past were -

1. Someone stole them when I was parked at the supermarket, a customer called me up a few hours later and said some guys had been around asking if she wanted trees lopped, the van had my signs on it. Had she not known me she might have fallen for it and I would have got the reputaitonal damage of a shoddy job.

2. They don't work on aluminium bodywork. Obviously, but for 2 years with my wee Audi I did without.

Vistaprint does them really cheap but recently started only doing max A4, which is nearly useless.

Bit of advice someone gave me once, was to make magnetic signs fit the exact size of the recess (assuming you have one) on the side of your van. Looks more professional, but importantly doesnt look as obvious it is a magnetic sign, so the take what they likeys arent interested. You may need to trim the corners to fit any curves in the recess but worth the trouble

Be aware that if you leave magnetic signs on for a long time they can trap water and subsequently damage the paint. Also make sure they and the surface you attach them to is perfectly clean!

Made that mistake with my old crafter van,  tiny swarf partials on the sign, rusty bonnet within days 😔 😟

I won't ever stick them on the disco or the ranger for that reason, not that they'd fit in anywhere anyway.  Fine on the ifor dropsides or the chipper though
