Oregon (73/75) LPX obsolete??!

Afternoon all you lovely people. I'm struggling to find online a retailer listing the above chain, particularly Oregon 73 LPX. I really like this chain I do and miffed to think they've updated it to DPX or some such version? DPX is rubbish imo.

It is now exl, I haven't heard any negative feedback about it tbh. It is still a full chisel profile.

I thought the exl was the same but a longer cutter/top plate so lasts longer

I think the EXL is new materials - it's a little harder to sharpen but seems to be popular.

 

DPX is the semi chisel and has been around for a long time.

just put Oregon 73 LPX into ebay and there is loads on there

I've got some EXL on my bigger saws, cuts well. No reason to search out the old stuff I'd say.

Oregon discontinued LPX 2 years ago, it’s EXL full chisel now.

I run 75 EXL on my 660,  cuts perfectly.

LPX was discontinued, DPX still going. Husqvarna dealers where giving away 3 free loops of it with every new pro saw bought for quite a while. The EXL replaced it and is a good chain, the Husqvarna C85 X-Cut is even better IMO.
