  • Stubby changed the title to Julie Etchingham program Misogyne in British policing .

Need to get the boss to do it...

Steve, he wants to call it Brotish Ploosing.

Didn't see the programme but there's been similar allegations about the fire service lately too, unfortunately it's a part of society. In the barbers earlier and overheard 2 lads talking so disrespectfully about a girlfriend, think if I'd known the girl I'd of wanted a chat in private.

Back in the 80s the workplace was very different.

I was back in the UK recently chatting to an old mate. Back in the day I’d often pop in it his printing works for a chat when passing.

You had maybe 6/7 guys operating their own printing machine and on the wall all around them were pictures of nude women, even porn (plus the odd football pic)

No one batted an eyelid, till a few girls started working there, even then it continued for a good while.

Then one day the boss came in and said ‘ok lads, these will have to come down’ and down they came.

Even as a salesman (which I was in my 20s) gender roles in the workplace were fairly clear.

Men were the sales force, women in accounts, purchase and bought ledger etc. (With a man as boss)

Things were  starting to change in the late eighties, women were taking traditionally male roles.

Looking back we were very sexist.
The workplace had to adjust, the bear pit, testosterone fueled environment ended, you just couldn’t call your workmate a useless tosspot or whatever anymore.

You had to develop emotional intelligence and soft skills.

Glad I’m out of it.

Only about four years ago I received a calendar from my local saw doctor company which had a very attractive naked woman on every page.  I was a little shocked as it did seem a bit of a dated concept.

Do such calendars still circulate I wonder?

Viva toxic masculinity and sexism,I am all in it, my oppressed woman, never work, never did any job outside of kitchen and a bed ,as I am so masculine I can’t trust her put my pfanners in washing machine, she have control of all our money, as I am so toxic masculine can’t even count them, add few holidays per year, and sometimes I got complains that I am not masculine enough 😵💫.By the way removing nice female bodies photos from the wall, cause they nude is actually a sexism🧐 i

Policing and army is a big strong and masculine man business ,unless a woman is masculine enough she have nothing to do there ,unless it’s administration or medicine.I have left few good jobs in the past just because woman’s was in the wrong roles, and I never hide this ,by the way office is pure girls job so if a man is not a girl enough he have nothing to do there this is my personal opinion, and I go to graveyard with it.
