What a shame. Seems like a really nice guy. 

 

Is filling down at the angle he does a couple of times in the first video a popular technique? I dont think Ive seen that done before. Whats the benefits?

Holds more chip in the kerf.

 

I learned it in the states, it makes a noticable difference on softwood.

 Think he is " square " filing a square ground full chisel  chain . You attack it from the outside as opposed to from the inside as you do with a round ground full chisel chain .

So very sad. Accidents happen how every careful and good we are.

I will pray for him and all his friends and family. 
I didn’t know him but my son has worked on trees and he is also very talented and lovely. I can’t imagine loosing him.
