4 stroke vs 2 stroke.

So,a poisoned chalice-is 4 stroke gear the golden future where we all skip gaily into an environmently friendly future,or an absolutely short-term cynical move by major manufacturers to get round strict regs such as in California?

Is mixing fuel as horrid and difficult as 4 stroke proponents claim?Why do stihl invite you to buy a 4 stroke where- horror of horrors you still have to MIX fuel!(yes,I know there's no sump involved!)

Will we ever see a 4 stroke chainsaw?Are you happy to monitor the horrifically tiny amount of oil in 4 stroke machines+add complexity and valve clearance into your already busy life?Phew!

Well it aint that, California is set to ban the sale of all petrol garden tools, no matter how many strokes!

They want everything electric in the future, you can't see the poor sickly child labourer digging the rare earth minerals out of the ground or assembling your tools and batteries from their high lofty thrones of pious virtue signalling.

 

That is unless they want to only allow hand tools only ?.

The Stihl 4-Mix 32cc motor has been around a good few years now, more than a decade I think... Got on on the pole-saw, on my second head and third shaft, but the motor is still going strong. Gives very little trouble, starts real easy, and savage power. I'd be quite ok with a 4-Mix version chainsaw.

I note honda have decided to retreat from the American market comeplety,which is q.a big shock given their quality gear

Doubt Stihl will stop manufacturing engines there tho regardless of whether they can sell in the cancer causing state of California.

Makita plans to stop making all 2 strokes  & also all 4 strokes i think.

It's about control over you. Same as the way cars are going.....full of electronics so they can trace you if needs be, and to stop the great unwashed going anywhere, they can turn the power off at will. If there's a war in the future, the enemy can target the power supply and we are fooked. Sure, the smart will get a generator to re-charge their batteries for their garden stuff, but the majority won't. The state can decide when you can use your tools, car etc. Phones now are nothing more than a personal tracking device, and the government encourage everything to be done on them now....I wonder why? It's coming.......all under the guise of the green agenda. Fools

At the minute, to stop the great unwashed going anywhere they just need to start a rumour about a hgv driver shortage and the sheep start panic buying, few days time and you can't get any fuel
