Think the deciding factor would be is the kit worn out or lost.

 

You could argue most equipment is 1 in 1 out, you loose it you pay for it.

 

At the same time I'd assume it's one pair of pants and 5 polo/jumpers preferably 60c wash.

Don’t know what quality of ppe you buy but in my experience the better the quality the more likely people are to take care of it ! If they don’t give them the cheapest stuff and if they ever complain… easily justified!

My old boss use to buy the cheapest PPE he could find, he said if you want better then you pay the extra. Most people paid the extra and looked after their kit as it was their money too.

The local utility company i believe insist employees provide their own saws . This I understand from a large company you could just imagine the loss and damage . There is a weekly payment so not a bad way to own a saw for weekenders .
