Sawn timber ID

Anyone know what species this is? If you can enlarge the second pic there's a good view of the bark.

Asking for someone else on another forum who's acquired this timber and doesn't know what he's got.

Hard to say from the photos, but the planks at the back on the first image look likely to be Cherry if it’s a hardwood, maybe Spruce if it’s a softwood.

Certainly looks like freshly milled cherry.  Look at the bark - cherry bark is very easy to identify.
