I have used tek sticther screws to give a bit of purchase on a steel sheet, no reason they wouldn't work on aluminium.

a 16mm self tapper won't come close to being any trouble on the underside, the ramps are probably about 120mm deep in total

Best way as no strength loss by drilling holes.
