Wood Pigeon 4 Eggs

Discovered a live wood pigeon’s nest with 4 eggs. All eggs were warm and entire and fresh and mother returned to sit the eggs. I’ve always seen 2 eggs or chicks. 3 is considered exceptional. Has anyone ever come across this during their arb careers please? I was amazed and yes checked that one wasn’t a cuckoo’s egg for clarity.

We topped some conifers at the beginning of the week also that had four eggs in to. I thought it was unusual I just put it down to two of the eggs was old ones they hadn’t sat then another pigeon or the same pigeon had laid in the nest again.
