You've drawn that on Good find really, cut some rings and get them preserved for hanging on the wall they would look good.

I have just found and resurrected this thread to show something I have recently made and it appears to be the correct thread for the following ............ I do a fair bit of arty / farty woodwork ( mostly turning ) and like unusual pieces of wood ( anything but plain sound clean wood to be honest !!) and have recently made this from a piece of beech which has become spalted but also has a cleanly compartmentalised hole running right through it , I created a ball about about 10" dia and hollowed it through 1 of the holes so the walls of the ball shape is approx 6mm thick and have made a small stand on which to display it , just thought I would show what can be made from an "interesting " piece of wood that also shows the beauty of CODIT in an unusual / interesting way

Yes thats fine .........here;s another in Oak , this was wet / green when turned and much thinner walls , it warped a lot in a pleasing ( to some )organic way . I would like an in tact squirrel skeleton to put inside one of them ha ha !!
