Really sorry to hear Dave and good to see your taking it so well, thats the piece of mind insurance give you, i dont trust insurance companys though after my break ins, i lost about 8k in total and they wriggled out on small print, there next up the peckin order the theivin scum IMO have changed insurance now to NFU, hope i dont have to put them to the test!

yeah NFU are excellent, I rang the director of local branch yesterday morning on his mobile (their closed on Saturday but still got back to me) and told him what had happened and he told me to go and buy full replacement kit that day.

The land rover was for sale and was worth about 3k will probably only get 2k from payout

 

The landrover is worth whatever you insured it for, if you put down a value of £6k then that is what you have paid a premium for, not what the insurance company thinks its worth out of some glasses guide.

 

Dont let the insurance company get away with it, if they asked you what the value of your vehicle was then it will be on your insurance spolicy schedule and that is what you are entitled to

Unfortunately thats not the case mate, if you want to set a value on a vehicle you insure, you need to get an independent valuation and send it to the insurer before you take out the cover.

 

Insurance is to replace whatever is covered, so if you are not happy with their offer you just ask them to buy you a replacement.

Wo wo wo, its not that bad, lets put things in perspective it only gear thats replaceable by good insurance cover. Yes its inconvenient and mucked up my weekend, but its not as if my family have had there house burnt down and being chased through the congo with machetes. I would never let myself get so bothered over equipment even if it was brand new yesterday. I pay £30 a month so I dont have to worry.

The NFU paid me quickly on my mog and chipper when it was stolen very good service in milford branch.
