is porting a chainsaw worth it?

Well I suppose it depends whether you want a smaller saw to cut bigger wood or a faster cutting saw for more efficiency. Or if you just simply want a saw that puts a smile on your face every time you use it. If you don’t want any of these things, then no it’s not worth it. 😂

I've had my MK2 550, my 572 and my 390 all done by @Crocky

I'm just waiting for the 390 to come back, it's in the post as we speak. The 572 is an absolute animal, it's truly a pleasure to use. The 390 is gonna be amazing I'm sure.

Your 390 was picked up a couple of hours ago. 😁

The answer really is that simple isn’t it. Once you’ve ran a ported saw there’s no going back.

Me and my bud were coppicing Hazel and felling Birch on an estate a few years back . He had his standard 346xp and I had my Spud ported 346xp . We stopped for a break , bit to eat and a drink . When we started back he had picked up my saw ( unwittingly ) and I took his . I thought bollox whats gone wrong with my flippin  saw  that's how different it is .

And a standard 346 is a good saw as it stands.

He pulled a fast one there didn't he! Bet he was hoping to quietly "mistakenly" take it home.

I hope you did some narrow trenching with his saw before you handed it back 🤣
