What's it like to burn?

I took a lime tree down last week and brought some of the timber home for logs. I don't have high expectations, given that it's so soft to cut.

Dries quickly and burns well, albeit slightly quicker than some other firewoods.

As ever though, dry wood good, wet wood bad, free wood best of all 😁

Expect it would   be very good for kindling as its like balsa.

Noticed  tiny blocks are selling online for silly money 😄

Cheers. As expected really; I had it in mind that it would be akin to willow.
Couldn't agree more with the second statement.

Always good demand for lime as timber.  I have struggled for logs recently and am turning customers away.

That's about it, fairly light when dry like willow. Burnt a fair bit myself, it's just fine.

I sell quite a bit of lime as outdoor burning wood for campfires and fire pits. Everyone seems to like it and comes back for more - I like it because it’s easy to split and dries nice and quickly

As others have said bit like willow, so get it cut and dried and keep under cover, other wise goes to mush.

Have had 3 massive limes in the last couple of years and wood has been a nightmare to keep dry to keep it good.
