snows all but gone from round here :D

 

from what ive seen they tend to be cheaper, and for a two year course where i doubt ill be doing alot of climbing. probs easiest if i ring the college and speak to the tutors

im not the best with words lol. they do supply boots and gloves they just recommend that you get your own. college im hoping to go to is Sparsholt, near Winchester. also applied to some others aswell

as far as im aware the hnd has been replaced with the fdsc at sparsholt, in which case the course is 95% theory, and unless your going out to work you wont need any personal ppe except steel toecap boots for site visits etc

yea its true they offer the fdsc they also do the hnd and nc aswell. the hnd is more practical, hence why i chose it. cant wait to start.

 

looks to me that most of you are in favor of boots over wellies. i shall investigate!

its actually a nd(national diploma) not hnd(higher national diploma). youd be better off getting your own gear

dont get the wellies mate, horendous heavy horrible things. Elton boots are great, approx £80,

 

As above I bought a pair of wellies when I first started and have hardly worn them as they weigh a ton, a decent pair of boots is a much better choice :thumbup1:
