Hi all i'm hoping someone can be of help. I'm weighing up which device we want, grcs or smart winch. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions? Also i have been trawling the internet looking for the swl of both devices, on the winch and more importantly on the bollard. it's a lot of money and i'm wanting to get the right device. TIA

Just used the smart winch which I have been really happy with, winch works well. Bollard is really smooth for lowering off.

Used neither, have used sailing winches elsewhere, own a Hobbs. If I was buying, it would be the Smartwinch. Not having to change from the winch to the bollard will be a massive advantage, as will being able to use the bollard and winch at the same time. Can't see a downside. My opinion might change if I discovered the SWL of the Smartwinch bollard was noteworthily less than the GRCS bollard but even if it was, I'd probably still go with the Smartwinch and keep a cheap Stein dual in the back of the shed for rare jobs that need repeated heavy negative rigging.

They will have dual ratings - One for the winch and the other for the bollard. Depends or your intended use to which you choose. If your intending to spend every day slamming and catching big timber as opposed to lifting then don’t discount the Hobbs.

Many thanks, it’s the rating of the bollards I’m after, I can’t seem to find them anywhere

Yea that’s the only thing that I want to check before I move forward, I wish suppliers were more detailed online!
