Usually a rotten egg smell is from the catalytic converter when thats knackered and i guess the smell comes through the a/c. You sure you didn,t just fart?

The Cat can smell of eggs when still in good order, what’s your daily mileage like? May be just wants a good run out. Exhaust exits at the rear of vehicle doesn’t it? with air intake somewhere up the front so I doubt exhaust fumes are coming in through the air intake 🤔- unless your reversing everywhere cos you can’t find a forward gear😳. Have you got a pollen filter? They should be changed at least annually, also I believe some manufacturer main dealers clean out the air intake side with a anti-bacterial spray. Start with the cheaper solutions before changing cat because as you say they’re stupid prices.

Sounds like the condensate from the Aircon isn't draining correctly...check the outlets the water comes out of.

Thanks Steve . Also got a pair of cabin/pollen filters on order .

Start engine turn aircon to max cold should be a lovely puddle of water forming underneath ive forgot the amount of breakdowns I go to who think there radiator leaking but one of those aircon aerosol are pretty good

Started the engine , ran the fan flat out with no pollen filters in and air con off . Sprayed Dettol anti bacterial spray into the air intake  left it running for 5 mins or so . Replaced the pollen/cabin filters with brand new ones . Horrid smell gone ! . As an aside I think the gas wants topping up as its not blowing very cold with air con on .
