What Spikes?!?

going to buy some new spikes - buckingham or bashlin??? choices, chioces! i guess spikes are spikes but if any one has any info advice that would be great! i also would like to be able to change the gaffs on them with ease, i like short gaffs as i find my self climbing on skinny stuff alot, but when those fat pines and wellingtonias need doing then big is best.

I love my bashlin alloys, I tried some with the velcro pads (bashlin I think) and didn't like them, the stiffness of the calf pad seemed to want to move the spikes allong your boot. Each to their own though.

mine (classics) delivered today, look good only question they seem a bit narrow for my boots (protector pro size 46) arch dont sit flush with bottom of spikes, is this going to be a prob. mind you damm sight lighter than my kleins

Alloy Gecko's seem to be the best sellers at the moment, coming a close second are the Bashlins.

Ali geckos and i wear protector pros. Great spikes- forget you have them on.

Have they got the same lump at the foot plate as the ali bash do? If so dose this make limb walking a git if on larger trees?

i dont really know what you mean, but i dont have aproblem with them, and i never really branch walk, i always go out under tension, side ways using the edge of my feet:001_smile:
