That just doesn't happen, a good climber will always have work. Often firms will pay them climbing rate for ground work, just to keep them around.

I've noticed you've upped the rate for the job you've advertised, is the £150-£200/day on the books, or for a freelancer?
 
Lovely part of the country you live in, I used to spend a lot of time around Whitwell... not a million miles away.

Freelance to start with but if all works open to PAYE and benefits

That just doesn't happen, a good climber will always have work. Often firms will pay them climbing rate for ground work, just to keep them around. 

We pay our climbers same rate for what ever they are doing and promise to always have work.

Cheers for the comments everyone. Yeah I hadn't thought reduced course numbers might be playing a part too I guess especially with workshop elements involved it's going to be harder to maintain social distancing with packed courses. I'm in North Wales and tree surgery seems a popular choice here, most journeys I take I see a 4x4 towing a chipper somewhere.

If you're looking for training sooner and you're up for an air b&b for a couple of days then hi-line training in Exeter is a very, very good training provider. They actually care about teaching you as opposed to taking money and getting you through an exam!

Cheers for the recommendation but I've got 38/39 booked in already and I've got enough work to keep me going until April in any case 🤗

Just me, simple climbing kit and a couple of saws. I don't really get involved in anything that would need much in the way of rigging these days. 
Edit. I should have mentioned, the 384 includes VAT. 

Excuse my ignorance, but to be vat registered turning over 85k you will need to be working over 4 days a week at that rate?

My day rate for the work I do when I'm not doing the odd bit of climbing is many times the day rate we are talking about here.

You do not need to be above the 85K threshold to be VAT registered, you can voluntarily register below it.
