Mornign all, hopefully im in the right section regard askign this important question. im new to climbing and the comany i work for have suplied me a climbing kit but with a massive duffel bag. it has far to much excess space in so was  looking for a more dedicated arborist kit bag. iv been looking at the courant cross pro XL (54L) , the courant cross rescue bag (75L) and the notch pro access kit bag (60L). obviously they are very different priced bags. i like the fact they open up and everything is easily accesible. what are everyones opinions on these bags and is there anything else you could reccomend.

The kit iv got it needs to hold,

2 ropes

harness

spikes

tool strop

karabiners

lanyard

prussiks

cambium saver

helmet preferably

and i think thats it!

Thanks for your help,

Adam

I’ve got a Silver Bull bag. Had it for about 10 years and still going strong. Made of decent quality plastic and has stood the test of time. They aren’t cheap but then they do last. I get all of my kit i there but not a lid. Prior to this I’d had fabric type bags and they didn’t last.

I now own 3 of these and they are absolutely fantastic. I use their climber 70. One bag is enough for 60M of 14mm sirius bull rope, rigging carabiners, 3 round slings up to 5m in length, 3 strops up to 3m and a flying capstan all in one.

I like that the top is made from parachute material and cinches down so the rope can be pulled out but the sawdust stays out. They are pretty waterproof too, when I've left ropes on site for day 2 I put as much as I can back in the bag and flip it upside down, if there's a torrential rain storm most of the rope stays dry which aids drying. I quite like that for SRT stuff I can leave the rope inside the bag at the base so it's not getting hung up in stuff and I don't have to worry about branches and kit smashing up a £150 bag as I payed £30 for these. They've seen good use and look brand new still I can't recommend these enough!

I've got the Cross Pro and I like it. Fits a 20m and 45m rope, throwline cube, axe and wedges, a few climbing systems and srt kit. Spikes and lid are kept seperate.

I've had mine a couple of years and have broken 1 buckle recently but apart from that it's holding up well.

Only downside is if you've got a few small jobs to go to its a pain packing and unpacking your kit.
