I have a suspicion it will be harder to push on solid wheels, but easier than a flat tyre.

Exactly that.  I bought solid tyres for the Jo Beau but they don't have the needle axle bearings that the originals do.  They made the machine at least 50% harder to push.

Yeh... I've abandoned the idea now. Gonna pull the wheels and tyres off, strip off the old paint and rust and blast them with a can of silver enamel.

New tyres and tubes too because the old ones are pretty perished.

Will give the electrics a good going over too.

It's started cutting out under load too so looks like the fuel system needs some love.

About time it had some love - it's done me well.

Not on a small carburetted petrol engine they’re not.

If it has been sat about a while sure its not just a flat battery? On small petrol engines they don't charge the battery back up like a traditional alternator system. Take the battery off and give it a proper trickle charge.

Have you got a volt meter handy? See what you're charging voltage is whilst running.

I would say the complete opposite. 95% of breakdowns we go out to that are fuel related its dirty, contaminated fuel. Tanks fuel of crap...

Okay - quick update... it was the fuel filter.

Completely gunked up. Replaced it now and that bit is fixed.

Battery's all good.

It's been removed completely and properly charged. It charged well and the terminal voltage is good.

The little window in the top of the battery is showing a happy green.

I've had a bit more of a check over of the electrics and cleaned some connections. Everything seems okay. I think it's the starter motor that's making the little click/clunk.

Going to give it a gentle tap and see if that helps.

Oh and 'Hello' GA Groundcare!

Greenmech told me to see you guys for spares. I need a microswitch for the drive belt cover safety switch. Apparently it's part number C200206.

Can you help?
